Posted on 05:55 by khali
an English-language 3D family animation film

"The voice cast will feature some of the biggest names in cinema, thanks to the help of casting director Gail Stevens, including Freddie Highmore, Julie Walters, Alfred Molina, Mark Strong, Rupert Everett, Saoirse Ronan, Barry Humphries, Charles Dance, James Cosmo and Antonio Banderas, who is a partner in Kandor Graphics."

Set in a magical world that children still dream of, JUSTIN AND THE KNIGHTS OF VALOUR is a story about the determination of a kid to reach his dream. It is a tale about friendship, honour and courage. A heart-warming story filled with adventure, action and fun.
Dance plays Legantir, a head monk of the abbey, a wise and gifted man who is a force of great power and magic. Seemingly severe at first, Legantir both scares and fascinates the young adventurer Justin and soon becomes a powerful ally and tutor for the boy.

JUSTIN (Freddie Highmore) lives in a kingdom where bureaucrats rule and knights have been ousted. He wants to be a knight but his father, REGINALD (Alfred Molina), the chief counsel to the QUEEN (Olivia Williams), wants his son to follow in his footsteps and become a lawyer. In need of guidance, Justin visits his GRANDMOTHER (Julie Walters), who tells him the story of his Grandfather, Sir Roland. SIR ROLAND was the noblest knight in the kingdom and protector of the King until they were both betrayed and killed by the evil SIR HERACLIO (Mark Strong). Against his father’s wishes, Justin runs away in search of his dream and begins his quest to become a Knight.
At The Broken Eagle Inn he meets TALIA (Saoirse Ronan), a beautiful, feisty and independently-minded girl, who shares his aspirations and whom he eventually falls for. He also meets a quirky wizard called MELQUIADES (David Walliams) who tells him where he can find the magical Abbey where the Knights of Valour once trained.
At the Abbey, he is mentored by three ancient monks. BLUCHER (James Cosmo) instructs him in knightly ways; LEGANTIR (Charles Dance) teaches him there is still magic in the world; and BRAULIO (Barry Humphries) who creates magical contraptions, and is responsible for GUSTAV the gas-powered wannabe-dragon crocodile.
Justin, though an unlikely candidate for knighthood, is determined to pursue his ideals. Called upon to prove himself when Heraclio and his minions, lead by SOTA (Rupert Everett), return and threaten the kingdom, Justin saves the day.

Peter Stormare will play the head of an eight-man enforcer team sent to dispatch Arnold and crew from a small town (Arnie is the sheriff and doesn’t plan to take any of their guff)……he’ll be in good company alongside actors like Richard Tyson, James Earl Jones, Charles Dance, Michael Ironside and, sure, Richard Dawson.

from an interview with Justin Theroux

How was it with Charles Dance and people like that on set? They must have been wondering what they let themselves in for.
I can’t remember what moment it was, or what Danny improvised, but he made some super off-colour joke as he was acting with Charles Dance and Charles Dance just goes, ‘I don’t even know what to say to that. David… What do I say to that?’ It was funny.
